Core Return Instructions — Read This First to Avoid Delays

Returning a core is simple, but a few missed steps can slow things down or cost you money. Follow the process below to make sure your return goes smoothly.

• Step 1: Confirm your core is still within the 90-day return window. (See Deadline below.)
• Step 2: Submit a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) request. [RMA request section — link coming soon]
• Step 3: Wait for your RMA confirmation. We'll email you an RMA number along with the correct return shipping address. Some cores ship straight back to the manufacturer instead of to us, so check your instructions carefully before sending anything out.
• Step 4: Pack the core properly. Good packaging protects your refund — a damaged or leaking core can get refused by the carrier or docked on inspection. Reusing the original box is fine as long as it's sturdy. Bag the part in plastic to contain any fluid, cushion it well, and tape the box securely.
• Step 5: Label the box. Attach your return shipping label and write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the package.
• Step 6: Ship it out.

What Is a Core?

Some parts — like injectors, fuel pumps, turbos, engines, and transmissions — are sold as remanufactured or rebuilt rather than brand new. When you buy one of these, the manufacturer usually wants your old part (the "core") back so it can be rebuilt and resold. A lot of these components simply aren't made new anymore, so without cores coming back, replacements couldn't exist. Returning yours keeps the supply chain moving — and gets you a refund.

What Is a Core Charge?

A core charge is a deposit built into the price of the part, refunded once your old core is returned. It reflects what the manufacturer needs to hold you accountable for sending the core back — and how hard that core is to source if you don't. Rare or hard-to-find cores can even carry a charge higher than the part's actual price. If you never send the core back, that charge is forfeited.

Core Return Policy — Please Read Carefully

Deadline: Cores must be returned within 90 days of the original purchase date. Returns made after 90 days may still be accepted, but any credit at that point is issued at CFM Diesel Performance's discretion.

Refund Policy: Cores returned within the 90-day window are eligible for a refund to your original payment method, subject to inspection and the Acceptance Policy below. Credit may be issued in full, in part, or denied. Please allow up to 4 weeks after we receive your core for inspection and processing.

Return Shipping Policy: You're responsible for return shipping costs and arranging the shipment. We recommend using a trackable, insured shipping method — shipping costs are non-refundable, and CFM Diesel Performance isn't responsible for cores that arrive damaged, get hit with freight penalties, or are lost in transit.

Acceptance Policy: To qualify for a refund, your core must meet the following:

• Fully drained of fluids, with no leaks, and sealed in a plastic bag
• An exact match to the original part — same make, model, type, and part number
• Not sourced from a salvage yard or junkyard
• Fully assembled, with no missing or damaged major components
• In rebuildable condition overall

Final acceptance and refund amount are determined at the discretion of CFM Diesel Performance and the original manufacturer or remanufacturer. Not meeting these standards may result in partial or denied credit.

If your core is denied and you'd like it shipped back to you, you have 30 days from the denial to request return shipping (at your expense). Cores left unclaimed after 30 days will be disposed of.
